Not a whole lot changed in the second period. The Ducks kept committing penalties and the Stars kept finding the goal.
At 3:58, Jere Lehtinen wristed the puck over the right shoulder of Ducks goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere, and the Stars, had 3-0 lead. Dallas was skating with a man advantage at the time as the Ducks’ Ryan Getzlaf was sent off the ice at 2:04 for roughing.
And then seven seconds after Francois Beauchemin was caught high sticking, Brenden Morrow gave the Stars a 4-0 lead.
The Ducks went on the power play twice in the period but went to the locker room with nothing to show for it.
The Stars outshot the Ducks, 27-16, by the end of the period.
