Ducks general manager Brian Burke gave an update, sort of, on Teemu Selanne during a Wednesday call in to the “Loose Cannons” show on KLAC/570.
Burke said talks will soon take place with the winger, who is undecided about coming back for a 16th season.
Burke reminded listeners that Selanne (right) is an unrestricted free agent and technically doesn’t have to report to anybody.Â
“He doesn’t owe us a phone call or a decision or anything,” Burke said. “We’re kind of at the mercy of when he decides or if he decides to play … My information is that he’s on his way back or just came back, and I’ll sit down with him at some point here in the near future and see what he wants to do.”
European sources and one in Canada are now quoting sources (including Selanne himself) that say the Finnish Flash will be back with Anaheim this season.
I don’t know if Teemu’s going to be a Duck but he is playing in that Hockey Fights Cancer Charity event next Saturday, September 6th at 4 pm at Anaheim ICE!! For more information contact them at…….. ASFAmerica.com Could this be a prelude to another Ducks/Selanne season?? I say YES!! See you all there. Lots of Ducks are supporting this charity effort!
