Well, probably not. But the Republican vice presidential nominee has been embraced by their AHL affilate.
The Iowa Chops presented the self-described “hockey mom” with a Chops jersey (right) at a rally in Des Moines on Saturday.
That’s Chops owner and CEO Kirby Schlegel and team president Steve Nitzel standing beside Palin.
“We’re a team of mavericks,” Palin told the crowd, according to the Des Moines Register. “We’ve got some chops, underdogs in this race.”
The Chops were evidently too fired up on Saturday night.
They lost, 5-1, to San Antonio, in a game that featured 169 penalty minutes, with five players getting game misconducts.
Perhaps Palin can give the Chops a pep talk before they take the ice on Nov.28 for the first of back-to-back games against the Manitoba Moose.

I now love the Ducks even more. Go Ducks and Palin!
