    seriously?!?

Why do we need 7 players fighting to be a healthy scratch?

  • Shaquille Bzhezinsky says:

Looks like Bob Murray likes to collect warm bodies, with emphasis on quantity, not quality.

  • Chaz says:

I know Bob said he thinks competition is good…that’s a LOT of competition right there for 2-3 roster spots. I guess it doesn’t hurt to give someone a tryout. Puts everyone on their toes.

    • ClippinWings says:

I’d like to know where you get 2-3 spots?

based on what Murray said about Sbisa & Boynton:

      Scott
      Whitney
      Wisniewski
      Sbisa
      Boynton

Are locks for the top 5, in fact they should all be top 4, but we’re too deep.

Eminger and Brookbank both, on another team would be a lock for the last spot.

      7 guys for 6 spots.

That leaves one of those last 2 two, fighting with Festerling, Salcido, Mikkelson, Mitera, Mcarthy & Cullimore to be the healthy scratch!!!

7 guys fighting to watch games from the press box.

      that’s nuts

  • Frank Booth says:

People are acting like Bob Murray signed him up for the next five years. It’s a tryout, he probably won’t make the team anyways.

What’s the harm in seeing if this guy has anything left in the tank?

  • Stephen says:

This is a win-win situation for both sides. This gives Cullimore a chance to show other teams what he might still have. He probably will not be signed by the Ducks but he is a benefit to have at least during training camp. You can never have enough competition during camp.

  • Ducked Up! says:

I wouldn’t be so quick to pen Sbisa into the lineup. Murray is on record as saying if Sbisa does not crack the top four he is not staying with the big club. The Ducks think this team is primed for a deep run. If Cullimore plays well in camp he could be the 6/7 guy and alternate with one of the kids.

Here’s the interview where Murray talks about Sbisa and early expectations for this year.
