NEWARK, N.J. — Ducks center Saku Koivu was a late scratch for tonight’s game against the New Jersey Devils because of a “lower-body injury.”

Koivu left the ice early before the line rushes during the morning skate but the veteran took part in the warm-up before deciding not to give it a go. Erik Christensen took his place on the second line between Joffrey Lupul and Teemu Selanne.

It is the first game Koivu has missed this season. Christensen, who wasn’t claimed off waivers, is playing his first game since Oct. 26 against Toronto.
