Ducks franchise ranked 14th by Forbes

November 12th, 2009, 5:00 am · 2 Comments · posted by Curtis Zupke, Staff writer

The Ducks organization is ranked 14th among the most valuable teams in the NHL, according to the annual study by Forbes magazine. dollar

The Ducks are worth $206 million, up slightly from $202 million last year, the report said.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are ranked first at $470 million, while Phoenix, not surprisingly, picks up the rear at $138 million.

The magazine noted that the Ducks’ run to the playoffs last season allowed the club to turn an operating profit for the third straight year.

Interesting to note that the NHL turned an average operating profit (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of $6.1 million in the 2008-09 season, its highest in 12 years.

Just as interesting to note, the operating income include hockey and non-hockey revenue.

The article also speculates that if Henry Samueli goes to jail the Ducks will probably be sold.

Man if I decide to do anything illegal I’m going to own a very large bank when I do it. When bankers steal they get a bail out and a bonus. How cool is that?

I say let’s pool our money together…. the way the team is playing AND Samueli sells it we might be able to get it at Phoenix Coyotes prices!

I says waits until about March and make him an offer of THREE FIDDY, all in nickels and dimes, unmarked coins cash money.
