Outlook: C Ryan Getzlaf’s three assists Saturday against Detroit allowed him to take over the NHL lead with 20. Getzlaf has 17 of those assists in his current 11-game point-scoring streak. … LW Kyle Calder figures to get into the lineup after being recalled from Bakersfield. Calder, who was signed on Oct. 28, had three goals and three assists in five games with the Condors. … C Saku Koivu (groin) and C Ryan Carter (bruised right foot) remain day to day. … Former Ducks LW Chris Kunitz is out of the Penguins’ lineup for two weeks because of an unspecified lower-body injury … C Evgeni Malkin has returned to the lineup after sitting out seven games because of a strained right shoulder.
Kind of bad/good news for the Penguins and BAD news for us in the Ducks’ side….Geno’s back and Saku Koivu’s still not recovered….and since Brookbank’s on the wing……………….Festerling on the D anyone?
I’m guessin’ one of the goalies gets hot, steals a couple-3 games and the rest of the team picks it up from there.
We all are waiting for some changes, but the team is in disarray. Everybody is nervous. Players know the code, they will not criticize the management. GM and the coach feel the pressure.
Frankly, I’m astonished Carlyle is still around at this point. And after Murph’s rant on thursday - quotes re it’s the player’s fault; Randy’s got a great system in place; he’s a good coach; blah blahblah blah- what freakin’ planet is he from?
Also, I’d appreciate it if both goalies would pull their head out of their a$$. Jiggy starts tonight - if Coach sticks to his word. Come on Jiggy!! Get that #1 job back.
