The keys to beating Chicago is to disrupt their transition game. Hawks have four D, Keith, Seabrook, Campbell & Sopel who can really move the biscuit.

Job 1 is pressure the D to force them into making quick decisions and clog the passing lanes. Force those D into doing things they don’t want to do.

On the “Spraying the field” post by Curtis Zupke, JohnP notes our Ducks need to “tighten up in the neutral zone.” That is done by playing a short gap between our forwards and our D. It is also how our Ducks can clog teh passing lanes and pressure the Hawks great puck moving Dmen.

Expect to see Coach Quenneville matchup the duo of Keith-Seabrook against our top line. That is pure strength v. strength. Our top line has met every challenge the NHL has thrown at them. For my money, Keith-Seabrook represent the toughest matchup they’ve seen.

One opportunity for our Ducks is isolating Cam Barker like we did Alexei Maszeros in the Tampa game. Barker is a tad slow and prone to brain freeze moments out there. Kinda like Francois Beauchemin actually in the duh department.

Getting our SAS Line (Saku-Artyukhin-Selanne, just tossing out a possibility) on Barker might yield good results.

After a rocky start Cristobel Huet is providing solid goaltending. Still, break this game down to a goaltenders duel, make it a one goal game, and I like our chances regardless if Giguere or Hiller draws the start.

Good points BC. Keep it up!!!

Let’s hope Wizzer is fired up for this one and Whitney continues his improved game. Getting SAS involved will be key.

I’ll be there today, win or lose, I’m looking for a close, tightly played game.
